The Lion King [DVD]|USA Non-Compatible Product| Region - 2

What a great find! I was disappointed that I could not find the Lion King in stores. I believe that this film is curerntly out-of-production, and as a result the copies available are really expensive. I purchased this UK edition of the film (Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray) and I was very happy with the set. There is no difference at all between this set and the American version except that some of the dub and subtitle languages are not the same as those on the US set. I watched in English and found it to be exactly the same as I remember. Best part was that I got a Blu-Ray (and the 3D Blu-Ray, which I can't use) for a very reasonable price, delivered in 2 days. Don't be deterred by the UK version info. It played well in my player and I had zero problems. As for the movie itself. . . It's the Lion King. If you haven't seen it, it is probably worth watching at least once. People are divided sometimes about this film, but I really enjoy the story and music. There are several memorable songs and the story of a young prince coming of age and coming into his own to rule a kingdom is not new, but done very well here. The movie may have scary scenes for the very young (my 4 year-old was all right with a little cuddling).

As the description states, this disc is region free and plays flawlessly in U.S. Blu-ray players (a 3D compatible player or PS3 is needed for the 3D disc). Having missed the 3D theatrical re-release, I was excited to see Disney's conversion of this iconic animated film. I already own "The Little Mermaid" in 3D and LOVED it, so I wanted to compare. Even though "The Lion King" has never been my favorite from the studio, watching it in 3D was jaw-dropping, it was like seeing it for the first time - I frequently got chills throughout. I highly recommend this release for animation enthusiasts with 3D capable TV's, the conversion is one of the best you'll see. I'm really looking forward to snagging "Beauty and the Beast" next as I'm sure it will look just as amazing.

I was surprised when watching this to hear my surround speakers playing sounds throughout the movie. To think I watched this movie when I was a kid on VHS tapes. Now I'm watching it on a 4k OLED tv with a nice surround speaker system. The quality is there if you like fidelity.

I collect 3d films. I wish they made more of them. This was as good as it can get when rendering a 2d animation into 3d. Was very happy with results. Classic animated movie at its best, that is loved by kids and adults. I think many would agree with that statement.

Great bluray that works in the US. A wonderful alternative for those not willing to pay the price for a standard US release of the same title. Plus this also comes with a bluray 3D version of it as well.

I was a little concerned about buying this both because it is a UK import and because it's 3D and I don't have any 3D equipment. But it comes with a 2D Blu-ray which works perfectly with a standard Blu-ray player. It's the original movie, not a different version, and it looks and sounds beautiful. If you're looking to purchase the Lion King DVD movie and you're frustrated with Disney's refusal to make it available except during the limited windows when they choose to release it from the "vault," this is an excellent alternative (assuming you have a Blu-ray player).

Excellent 3D conversion that adds great depth to the entire film and provides some nice, but not overabundant, pop-out effect. Played perfectly on my OPPO 203. Viewed on LG E6 Series OLED65E6P using OPPO UDP-203 4K player with Samsung HW-K950 Dolby Atmos soundbar

After I purchased this my husband was curious after I told him it was only $20.94. Then when he saw what I ordered he said it might not play on our systems. After reading all the reviews and seeing many people saying they didn't have an issue playing in the U.S. I decided to take it out the package and check it out. Well, both Blu-Ray and 3D played PERFECTLY on our Xbox-1!! We're super happy with this purchase. I definitely recommend.

Trotz mehrfachen lesen wurde hier nicht angezeigt, dass dieser Film nicht in Deutsch ist. Das ist ein wichtiges Detail. Englisch geht auch, aber es fehlt hat doch das gewisse etwas.

Lion King is an amazing film. A true Disney classic from my childhood. This UHD Blu-ray is the ultimate version available. Stunningly crisp images even on my entry-level 4k TV. I treated all my neighbours to the opening scene :)

Edition 4K US qui fonctionne parfaitement chez nous avec les voix françaises parisiennes (pas québécoise!) . C'est le même doublage français que celui que l'on connaît au cinéma en DVD ou bluray français ou même le 4K français. De plus, le disque 4K propose le choix du menu en français. Du coup, on a un disque 4K US avec une interface en français comme si c'était l'édition française. Il marche bien chez nous évidemment car il n'y a pas de zonage. Seule la jaquette est intégralement en anglais comme le titre 'Lion king'. Il est livré dans un étui cartonné. Concernant l'image, il n'y a pas vraiment de gain en matière de détails bruts. Mais le rendu des couleurs plus sombres et précises, l'amélioration des contrastes flagrante valide une image plus chaleureuse et dynamique au final plus nette. L'image du blu rau était magnifique, celle du 4K est encore plus belle, plus précise, sensiblement plus nette et colorée.

My previous experience with 3D has been disappointing. Perhaps I only saw 2D conversions in 3D sample discs, but the obvious layering of photographic scenes always looked false. I last saw the Lion King 20 years ago. It was always my favourite Disney film and I thought it couldn't be improved - wonderful animation, a good story, a witty script and excellent voicing by Rowan Atkinson and Jeremy Irons. But I was wrong. The addition of 3D is quite sensational. If you'd thought the 3D would either be hardly noticeable, or irritatingly intrusive, you'd have been wrong. It is brilliant!
