Interesting Ghost Book for People Who Know About Virginia Beach
I have to say that this is an interesting book, particularly if you are familiar with Virginia Beach. When I was younger, I used to deliver pizza to the Mayflower apartments and wondered about its history. It is a creepy place and seems strangely constructed. It's hard to find information on haunting activity on such a place or other places around Virginia Beach, but the author seems to have done a lot of research that provides information I have been looking for for a while as a resident of Virginia Beach. I really enjoy his professional style, in which he presents the evidence without cheap over-dramatizations or exaggeration. If you're looking for a bloody thriller full of gore and exaggeration to produce excitement, I suggest you purchase a fictional horror story. This book is more for serious ghost hunters who want the facts and history.

A mix of not-very-scary stories and filler
That pretty much describes this book. The not-very-scary stories are a mixture of 1st and 2ndhand stories that never pack any kind of punch. The whole book has a very desultory, almost bored tone. But I wouldn't have rated it so low had not the first chapter been on that most over-used staple of mediocre ghost books, Blackbeard, who relationship to "Haunted Virginia Beach" is non-existent. The Witch story was even more ludicrous and written as if it were 100% TRUE. A few as-told-to original ghost tales do not a ghost book make. Another thing. I don't know what printing process was used for this book, but it literally stank. Sorry! I don't like rating a book so harshly but as a VA resident who has been to VA Beach, I was very disappointed in this book.

A story teller that left too much on the tab!e
This book could have been so much more. The stories read fast and ended abruptly. I felt rushed by short stories that had neither suspense or fright. I can't in conscience recommend this title.
